Each page features the common & scientific name of one of the birds followed by a phrase or a sentence sardonically directed at birders. What makes it slapstick funny is the position taken by the author as a lay critic of birds thus allowing him to interpret the bird names funnily. As a birder, I found it funny and the art work is also lovely with an attention to detail but still having a caricature-ish feel.
