It's a lovely story blending together multiple stories in different parts of the world, starting with the childhood of the narrator and taking the reader back and forth through his life, as well as the lives of the people in his life. The level of detail of the settings in which the characters are based are very real, stark and eminently relatable. A wonderful read questioning various identities and ideologies never really judging them, yet contrasting them carefully and blending them into a story of the narrator in a very real way.
